Christian Doppler Grammar School

         

          In November this year we worked on complete interior survey of Chrisitan Doppler Garammar School in Prague. The reason for the survey was a project for planned refurbishment of school's heating system. We chose 3D laser scanning to carry out the job. One of the reasons to scan the building was the tight deadline we had for the job. Using our fast and accurate Faro Focus 3D scanner in the six storey building, adding in total around 9000 square meters of floor plans, we managed to complete the site works in just 7 days. Other reason for 3D laser scanning was the possibility to provide engineers with the aquired data. They can use it to analyze all parts of the building helping them to determine the best solution for their project. Inside Faro Scene LT, a free of cost scanning software provided with the data, it is easily possible to visually analyze the surrounding situation, read coordinates, determine dimensions, or even create geometric entities representing scanned objects with the possibility of exporting to CAD formats.

          In total we registered 291 scans, created a 3D pointcloud with 1 cm resolution of 260 million points, extracted plan and section drawings from the aquired 3D data and created a fly-through video you can see below. From the first scan to issue the project took 20 days.
